Shray B.

My name is Shray Bhasin and I am a professor with the SoHT. In the past year with Seneca, I already have enjoyed teaching Dining Room Service Management, Catering Management, Human Resources Management, Wedding Planning and my personal favorite-Service Leadership which I absolutely love. I have a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Commerce and Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Hotel Management.

In addition to teaching at Seneca, I am currently part of the Food & Beverage Management Team with The Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel in Toronto. I have 25+ years of industry-related experience, majorly in Hotel and Restaurant Operations. I have worked with Hotel chains like Intercontinental Hotels Group, Hyatt Hotels & Sonesta Hotels & Resorts to name a few. I have also owned and managed multi-cuisine restaurants, pubs and operated volume industrial offsite catering as well as catered to specific niche markets. I am passionate about this industry and it has given me an opportunity to travel and work in cities in Europe, South East Asia and North America.

Food and Movies are my other passions and these are industries I have known since childhood. Both are subjective industries, where a laypersons opinion also holds value and needs to be considered and respected.

My favorite destination in all my travels has been the Ski Resort “Crans-Montana” in Valais Switzerland(I would move there in a heartbeat if I were to be given an opportunity).
